Dynamic distance feedback does not always ‘work’

In seat2meet Utrecht I saw this ‘thermometer’, but did not understand the meaning or message it gave…
A small written note below more it more clear and took me to their website explaining it is supposed to be controlled by the tweets on this location being positive mainly. I believe this product could be designed better, since it is supposed to communicate a message, but since the viewer can not relate to the message given instantly but needs more reference.

However I do like the concept and idea very much! And I would wish to own one at home! It measures atmosphere or visualises one or more messages from mobile communication.
